Durham Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and care for patients in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital. This full-time, on-site role involves restraining animals during examinations, stocking rooms, sterilizing tools, and documenting patient information.

The ideal candidate has prior customer service experience, is able to lift up to 40 pounds, and is available to work weekends as needed to support the team and patient care.

Description

Our hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to help provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

The Veterinary Assistant is responsible for assisting Veterinarians in the care of animals. The Assistant helps during initial examinations by restraining animals when necessary, stocking examination and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools and ensuring that equipment is in working order. Veterinary Assistants also communicate with clients (pet owners) and update patient files.
