PETS Emergency Hospital is looking to add a full-time Veterinary Assistant to their team!

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in pets' lives by providing care for our patients. Your work will include hands-on care, facilitating outpatient treatments, performing lab tests, and supporting services like admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures following your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns, Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
  • Maintain accurate medical records with practice systems.
  • Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Support and mentor team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience.
  • Knowledge of common emergency disease processes, treatments, and medications.
  • Experience with digital radiography.
  • Prepare animals and instruments for surgery.
  • Assist with surgeries, anesthesia, and post-op care.
  • Administer medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian.
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated, excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Committed to a stress-free environment and working in a fast-paced setting.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience, starting at $18.50-$25.50/hour, with the final offer considering skills, qualifications, and location.
