Job summary

Grayling Hospital for Animals in Grayling, MI is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, full‑service small animal hospital.

Pay is $15–$17 per hour based on experience. Hours are Monday through Friday (4 full days and 1 half day), with weekends closed. You will support veterinarians, assist with exams, treatments, surgeries preparation, and client communication while helping maintain a high standard of care.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with patient restraint and handling.

  • Communicating with clients and supporting client education.

Full-Time Veterinary Assistant

Grayling Hospital for Animals | Grayling, MI
Pay: $15–$17 per hour, based on experience

Monday - Friday (4 full days and 1 half day)

Are you looking for a veterinary team where you can build your skills, laugh with your coworkers, and feel supported through both the good days and the challenging ones? Grayling Hospital for Animals is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team!

We are an AAHA-accredited, full-service small animal hospital providing compassionate care to dogs and cats. Our hospital is staffed by three veterinarians and features five exam rooms, a dedicated surgery suite, recovery area, modern diagnostic equipment, and more.

What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting our veterinarians and veterinary team. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with patient restraint and handling
  • Supporting appointments, examinations, and treatments
  • Preparing patients for procedures and surgery
  • Monitoring and caring for hospitalized and recovering patients
  • Maintaining clean, organized treatment and patient care areas
  • Communicating with clients and supporting client education
  • Assisting with laboratory and diagnostic procedures
  • Supporting a positive, collaborative environment for patients, clients, and teammates
About Our Hospital

Grayling Hospital for Animals offers a variety of services, including:

  • Routine and advanced surgical procedures

  • Same-day urgent care during regular business hours

We use Avimark practice management software.

Our schedule is Monday through Friday, and we are closed on weekends, helping support a healthy work-life balance.
