Job summary

Fryeburg Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our AAHA-accredited, six-doctor practice in western Maine. You will work closely with veterinarians and technicians to provide high-quality medicine, assist with exams, vaccines, and imaging, and support clients with scheduling and care instructions.

We value teamwork, ongoing training, and professional growth. This is a full-time role with four 10-hour shifts per week and rotating Saturdays, based at 203 Bridgton

Qualifications

• Experience collecting history and discussing core vs. lifestyle vaccines.
• Proficiency with restraint and blood draws.
• Experience with vaccine administration preferred.

Fryeburg Animal Hospital Is Hiring a Full-Time Veterinary Assistant!

Location:

203 Bridgton Road, Fryeburg, ME 04037

Compensation:

$18–$24/hour, based on experience

Schedule:

Four 10-hour shifts per week; variable schedule. Rotating Saturdays are a MUST.

Skills Needed:

Experience collecting history, going over core vs. lifestyle vaccines, going over preventatives and proficiency with restraint. Proficiency in blood draws, and vaccine administration is highly preferred.

What You'll Bring to the Team

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.


• A calm and efficient approach, with the ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment with composure.


• Confidence and skill in handling pets of all sizes and temperaments.


• Strong organizational and communication skills.


• Proficiency in fundamental veterinary skills ranging from laboratory and pharmacy to nursing and radiology is a strong asset.
