Job summary

VCA South Arundel Animal Hospital in Edgewater, MD, is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant. Experience in veterinary medicine is a plus; if needed, we offer an excellent training program and tuition support to become a licensed Veterinary Technician. You will work with 5-7 doctors and a full team to ensure efficient hospital operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in exams and procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and procedures.
• Prepare exam rooms and surgical suites; assist as needed.
• Perform radiology, lab work, venipuncture and catheter placement.
• Assist in patient recovery and provide compassionate care to hospitalized animals.

Seeking a Veterinary Assistant!

Location: VCA South Arundel Animal Hospital - 85 W Central Ave, Edgewater, MD 21037

Compensation: The pay range for the role is $18-$20/hour, dependent on experience, education, certification, etc.

As the area’s first Animal Hospital in 1966, VCA South Arundel is proud of its long history and commitment to educating our clients and involving them in their pet’s health care. We are a busy, 5-7 doctor practice, located just south of Annapolis, MD. We have a unique culture in our hospital that values each person’s individual skill and personality. We are looking for a Full Time Veterinary Assistant for our busy practice (experienced in Veterinary Medicine is a plus!). We have 5-7 doctors and a full staff that helps to make sure that the hospital runs efficiently. You will want to work with us because, like us, you love animals! You also love to help people and will be fantastic at helping our pet parents. Our days here are very busy and you like a fast paced atmosphere. You will be a quick learner because we will have much to teach you. If you are new to veterinary medicine, we have an excellent training program, if you have skills already that is great. From the exam rooms to the surgical suites, we will train you and help to strengthen your skill set. Want to become a licensed Vet Tech? We will even offer to pay for your schooling.
