Job summary

Beechmont Pet Hospital in Anderson Township, just outside Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a full-time veterinary assistant. Part-time consideration may be available for the right candidate.

The ideal applicant has a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to multi-task while providing quality pet care. Primary duties include assisting with patient care, monitoring hospitalized pets, handling basic diagnostics, maintaining inventory, restraining animals during procedures, and

• Customer service background and/or veterinary hospital experience preferred.
• Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to receive on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets.
• Maintain inventory and stocking.
• Restrain animals during blood draws and nail trims.
• Aid with routine diagnostic tests.
• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments.
• Disinfect hospital and care for animals’ needs.
• Answer phones and support customer service duties.

Beechmont Pet Hospital is currently seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing individual to join our growing staff as a full-time veterinary assistant! Part-time availability may also be considered for the right candidate. Potential applicants should have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and have the ability to multi-task. A customer service background and/or veterinary hospital experience is preferred but we are also willing to provide on the job training as well.

The duties of the veterinary assistant would include

• assisting with patient care and treatment
• monitoring hospitalized pets
• maintaining inventory and stocking
• restraining animals during blood draws and nail trims
• aiding with routine diagnostic tests
• maintaining & sterilizing surgical instruments
• clean/disinfect hospital
• administering medication under supervision
• feeding/bathing animals
• answering phones and general customer service duties
