Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
• Ability to assist with exams, technician appointments, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures.
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs.
• Radiographs and proper positioning techniques.
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Festival Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and help create exceptional experiences for clients and patients during exams and outpatient visits.

We are seeking an outgoing, personable Veterinary Assistant who enjoys connecting with clients, coordinating schedules, and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will be an essential part of our hospital team, helping ensure smooth daily operations while creating positive, welcoming experiences for clients and their pets.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to anticipate the needs of both clients and the veterinary team. You will play an important role in supporting compassionate, high-quality patient care throughout every visit.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting efficient exam room and outpatient workflow to ensure exceptional patient and client care
• Maintaining accurate, thorough medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Supporting veterinarians during outpatient procedures and treatments while providing high-quality patient care
• Building positive relationships with clients through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation: $ 20 - $23 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time or part-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with rotating Saturdays from 8am - 1:30pm every other weekend.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistantrequired
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Safe animal handling and stress - free restraint skills for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
  • Ability to assist with exams, technician appointments, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
  • Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining patient weights and vital signs
  • Radiographs and proper positioning techniques
  • Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
