Job summary

All About Animals Rescue seeks a compassionate, mission-driven veterinarian to provide primary care for cats and dogs at a high-volume Michigan clinic. The role includes exams, preventative care, and treatment of common infections, with emphasis on keeping pets healthy and in their homes.

We are seeking a compassionate, mission-driven veterinarian to provide primary care. Must be dedicated to keeping cats, dogs, and community cats healthy and in their homes while seeking to end pet overpopulation.

Full-Time: Flint

Part-Time available: Auburn Hills, Detroit, Flint and Warren.

THE ROLE

Provide primary care to cats and dogs at a high-volume clinic. Includes physical exams, preventative care, diagnosing and treating basic eye, ear, skin, urinary tract and respiratory infections and providing supportive care and treatment management for animals as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Michigan veterinary license (or ability to obtain)
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with clients and staff
• Alignment with AAAR's mission to reduce access-to-care barriers for underserved pet owners
• Working knowledge of spectrum of care/incremental care decision making and shelter medicine principles (or willingness to learn and practice)

In addition to spay/neuter, we provide incremental care, walk-in wellness care, traveling community shot clinics, pet adoption and a robust TNR community cat program.

We believe affordable care is a critical piece in preventing pet overpopulation, pet relinquishment and shelter euthanasia.

Over 450,000 cats and dogs are now reproductive free since beginning full time spay/neuter services in 2008. Last year, more than 28,000 pets were sterilized, including nearly 11,000 community/feral cats. Typically, 50,000 patients receive wellness care each year.

Together, we’ll save Michigan pets by passionately serving the public, shelters, rescues and animal control in the pursuit of No More Homeless Pets.
