Description of Work

This position serves as the resident director of the Northwestern Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (located in Elkin) within the NC Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory system, with responsibility for planning, coordinating, and directing resources, programs, and diagnostic services of the facility. Direct supervision is provided to one veterinary diagnostician, three medical technologists/technicians, one processing assistant, and one laboratory assistant. Additional responsibilities include performing post-mortem examinations on a variety of animal species, procuring tissues for ancillary diagnostic testing, interpreting test results, and writing laboratory reports.

Recruitment Range: $89,072 - $130,000

Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.
