Job summary

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is seeking a compassionate, Board‑Certified Internist to join our Rarebreed practice. You will help establish an internal medicine department, set standards for exemplary care, and work with specialists using the latest technology.

You will treat a diverse caseload with ECC and surgery support, communicate with staff and referring veterinarians, and participate in ongoing education and training.

Qualifications

• DVM degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Internist.
• Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in establishing an internal medicine department, creating protocols and setting the standard for exemplary care.
• Treat a diverse caseload of internal medicine patients with the support of the ECC and surgery departments.
• Effectively communicate and work with staff members in a positive team‑driven approach to maximize patient care and client satisfaction.
• Communicate with referring veterinarians.
• Participate in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate.

Maine Veterinary Medical Center is seeking to add a compassionate and skilled Board‑Certified Internist to our team. Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level‑two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in‑house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 16‑slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in‑house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC has well‑staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, Rehab and Acupuncture and a great team of emergency clinicians and criticalists to offer advanced services to a well‑educated client base. https://mvmc.vet/

WHAT YOU'LL DO

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
• Completion of Internal Medicine residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Internist
• Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License
