Howes Cave Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to help grow our thriving practice in Howes Cave, NY. All levels of experience are welcome; the ideal candidate loves small animal medicine and is friendly, responsible, personable, and a team player.

The hospital offers advanced diagnostics, dentistry, soft tissue surgery, radiology, and class IV therapeutic laser, with a supportive, collaborative team and a focus on high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD or equivalent degree required.
• Licensure in the state where you will work.
• Compassion for pets and their owners.
• Excellent manual dexterity for surgery and procedures.
• Ability to stay calm and make quick decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems.
• Treat and dress wounds.
• Perform surgery on animals.

• Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines.
• Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments.

Pay Range: $120,000-$160,000 base annually. Exact salary will dependent on the position, location, and experience.

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
• Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
• Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
• Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
• Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
• Strong fondness and understanding of animals
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of animal behavior
• Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
