Qualifications

• DVM degree from AVMA-accredited school and active state license.
• Current DEA license and CS license if applicable.
• USDA accreditation or ability to obtain within two months.
• Comfort with anesthesia and common surgical procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional team player.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent patient care by performing physical examinations, diagnosing and treating diseases, and providing preventive care.
• Develop problem-based differential diagnoses and treatment plans based on findings.
• Document observations, exams, diagnostics, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record clearly.
• Perform routine and complex surgical procedures including spays/neuters, abdominal explorations, and mass removals.
• Perform routine and complex dental procedures including full dental exams and extractions.
• Develop treatment plans for day hospitalization and coordinate with referral hospitals for continuity of care.
• Participate in rounds as incoming or exiting doctor at shift changes.
• Disseminate knowledge to improve care and communication among staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Licensed Veterinarian

USDA compliance mindset

Education

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from AVMA-accredited school

Active veterinary license in the practicing state

Current DEA license

Current Controlled Substance License (if applicable)
