Job description

Shore Veterinarians is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team!

Shore Veterinarians welcomes both urgent treatment cases as well as pet patients in need of routine medical, surgical, and dental care. We have years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care. Beyond first-rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable and calm, so our patients can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting our veterinarians at all of our locations.

Our services include routine preventative health care as well as surgery, laboratory, radiology, ultrasound, and hospitalization facilities. Our hospital is equipped with state-of-the‑art diagnostic equipment and adheres to high standards in the way we practice medicine.

About the position:

The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for the medical and surgical care of patients in the exam room and the hospital. This includes maintaining client relationships and effectively communicating the care needs and condition of their pet. Medical records are maintained accurately and legibly and estimates are presented to clients in advance of care, as appropriate. The Associate Veterinarian is considered a member of the hospital’s management team and is therefore responsible for supporting the hospital leadership and NVA.

Basic Skills and Qualifications:
  • Candidate must be a graduate from an AVMA‑accredited college or have successfully passed the ECFVG certification program or the PAVE certification program
  • Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and listening
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong working knowledge of veterinary medicine
  • Good working knowledge of business practice and accounting
  • Functional computer skills; workable typing ability
  • Able to think rationally and logically; able to make quick, decisive decisions
  • Able to give, receive, and follow directions
  • Able to provide training and support to colleagues and support team members
  • Able to be empathetic and compassionate
Compensation
  • Base salary of $120,000-$150,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Production‑based bonuses
