Job summary

Atlas Consultancy Group is working with a well-established general practice hospital in Sacramento, CA to recruit an experienced Medical Director who will lead clinical standards and mentor a skilled veterinary team.

You will collaborate closely with the Hospital Manager and the network's Chief Medical Officer to guide clinical quality, drive success, and support DVM development across the team. A four-day work week with no weekends enhances work-life balance.

Qualifications

We are working on behalf of a well established general practice hospital in Sacramento, CA that is looking to welcome an experienced Medical Director to its leadership team.

This is a highly collaborative, community-focused practice with a loyal client base, part of a wider family of veterinary hospitals across Northern California. In this role you will lead and mentor a skilled, supportive veterinary team, partnering closely with the Hospital Manager and the wider network's Chief Medical Officer to guide clinical standards and drive hospital success.

The hospital offers in-house diagnostics, dental radiography, and access to same-day echocardiography and ultrasound, all within a well-equipped, modern facility. There is a genuine opportunity here to help drive AAHA accreditation and Fear Free initiatives, and to act as a clinical resource for complex cases while supporting DVM development across the team.

About You

• DVM or VMD from an AVMA accredited veterinary school
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in California
• 5 plus years of clinical experience
• Leadership experience as a Medical Director, Clinical Director, or Lead Veterinarian preferred
• Genuine passion for mentorship, collaboration, and high quality medicine
• Total compensation of $180,000 to $220,000 plus uncapped production bonus
• Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance available for qualified candidates
