Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Veterinarian role based in Urbandale, IA. The Veterinarian will perform wellness exams, diagnose and treat medical conditions, provide preventive care, and perform surgical and dental procedures for companion animals. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, interpreting diagnostic tests, creating treatment plans, and educating clients on pet health, nutrition, and behavior. The role involves collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff, maintaining accurate medical records, and following hospital protocols and standards of care. The Veterinarian will also contribute to a positive clinic culture by supporting team members, promoting excellent client service, and participating in ongoing quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and an active, or eligibility for, Iowa veterinary license.
• Clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, including physical examinations, diagnostics, and routine surgical procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with clients and team members, explaining diagnoses and treatment options in accessible language.
• Strong commitment to patient safety, infection control, and adherence to veterinary best practices and ethical standards.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced clinical environment.
• Comfort using veterinary practice management software and digital medical records; basic proficiency with standard office technology.
• Interest in continuing education and staying current with advances in veterinary medicine and patient care.
