Job summary

Akicita Federal is hiring a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging for veterans at the VA New Jersey Health Care System, Toms River CBOC. You will perform X-ray exams, ensure image quality, and document procedures in VA systems while maintaining safety standards.

The role emphasizes patient care, collaboration with clinicians, and adherence to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff in a federal healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • Prior VA Healthcare experience or similar federal care setups.
  • Familiarity with VA EHR systems such as VistA/CPRS.
  • Experience serving veteran or military patient populations.
  • Additional ARRT certifications or advanced modality training (e.g., fluoroscopy, DXA).
  • Clean malpractice history and strong professional references.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of diagnostic radiographic examinations for veterans.
  • Operate and maintain radiologic equipment following safety standards.
  • Position patients and adjust techniques for mobility limitations.
  • Evaluate image quality and optimize radiographs on first attempt.
  • Document procedures in health records and VA systems.
  • Coordinate with providers and clinic staff for timely imaging orders.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
