Job summary

IdahoPTV in Boise, ID is seeking a full-time Veterans Cemetery Caretaker to maintain the State Veterans Cemetery grounds and operate burial-site equipment. The role runs 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with responsibilities including landscaping, irrigation maintenance, and grave-site preparation.

Qualified candidates will have experience in groundskeeping, irrigation systems, and heavy equipment operation. The position offers competitive hourly pay and state employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience or knowledge of groundskeeping and irrigation systems.
• Ability to operate landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
• Familiarity with maintenance of irrigation systems and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lifts and carries items weighing ~50 pounds.
• Bends, stoops, and shovels in various weather conditions.
• Operates heavy equipment used for gravesite preparation.
• Positions granite headstones up to ~140 pounds with lifting devices.
• Repairs and upgrades irrigation systems.
• Maintains facilities with ladders and hand tools for plumbing and lighting.
• Operates John Deere Gator and forklift for cemetery operations.
• May train or supervise subordinates or volunteers.
