Job summary

Arizona Department of Veterans' Services is seeking certified nursing assistants for the Arizona State Veterans' Home in Flagstaff. The role offers 12-hour day shifts (6:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.) with every other weekend off and a potential $5,000 hiring incentive.

You will provide compassionate nursing care to veterans, support ADLs, and collaborate with licensed staff. In addition to maintaining resident comfort and safety, you will participate in AMS processes and QAPI activities, ensuring quality

Qualifications

Current or temporary license to practice as a CNA in Arizona
Current CPR certification
Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance card in AZ
E-Verify compliance and acceptable background checks

Responsibilities

Assist Veterans/Residents with transfers, ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, toileting and other ADLs
Assist in monitoring vital signs and use medical equipment
Support licensed nurses with procedures and post-care
Document medical records and reports
Assist with dining and meal services and inform dining staff of choices
Respond to patient requests promptly and maintain a clean, sanitary environment
Report emergencies rapidly according to policies and procedures
Participate in AMS processes and quality improvement initiatives
Transport Veterans/Residents to appointments as needed
