Job summary

The State of Connecticut, Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) seeks a Nurse's Aide to join the Health Care Center in Rocky Hill, CT. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with a 2nd shift (2:45pm - 11:15pm) and eligibility for shift and weekend differential.

Responsibilities include bedside care, patient assistance, and support for nursing staff. Qualifications include Nurse's Aide certification and at least one year of patient care experience; experience with veterans or dementia is

Qualifications

• Certification as a Nurse's Aide.
• One year of experience in patient care in a hospital or nursing home.
• Experience working with veterans or patients with dementia preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists doctors and nurses in general care and well being of patients.
• Positions, transfers, moves and lifts patients; observes patient conditions.
• Takes and records temperatures, pulses and respirations; collects specimens.
