Job summary

MID-AMERICA CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY INC in Oklahoma City seeks a Student Veteran Advisor to guide military and veteran students in academic planning, progress tracking, and graduation. You will serve as Certifying Official for VA benefits, supervise others, and coordinate with campus offices to ensure compliant enrollment and timely disbursement of education benefits.

A Christian faith alignment is preferred. This is a full-time clerical role requiring strong organizational skills and compassion

Qualifications

• Excellent research, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Attuned to detail and insistent on correct information and data, both verbal and written.
• Experience with student information systems; development of reports, and regulations related to student records.
• Demonstrated experience to manage complex operations and systems.
• Sound Christian testimony with the ability to integrate faith and learning.
• Subscribe to the statement of faith for Mid-America Christian University; mission alignment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a working knowledge of MACU academic programs, curriculum, and degree requirements; policies and procedures.
• Systematically contact newly enrolled military affiliated students to establish rapport and support expectations.
• Refer students to appropriate staff for academic advising, financial assistance, billing, etc.
• Counsel veterans on educational and other benefits and VA eligibility.
• Audit veterans’ records to ensure compliance with VA rules and regulations.
• Prepare reports pertaining to veteran students and their benefits.
