Job summary

Paynesville Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab testing, and client education. The role emphasizes compassionate patient care, accurate lab work, and clear client communication.

Responsibilities include assisting in exams, preparing for surgery, collecting samples, radiography, and medication administration. Strong licensing and teamwork are required, with benefits and career development opportunities

Qualifications

• State license to work as a certified veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; assist for heavier loads.
• Experience with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and laboratory testing.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office.
• Strong communication to educate clients and ensure safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed.
• Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and providing client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
• Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments at the discretion of the veterinarian.
• Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment and lab areas; restock supplies; assist others to keep public areas clean.
