Job summary

Parker Animal Clinic in Austin, TX is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to patients and exceptional service to clients. The role requires hands-on animal care, clear client communication, and veterinary procedure knowledge.

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, PTO, a 401(k), and an employee pet discount. The schedule features a two-week rotating pattern with early to late shifts, and alternating Saturdays, with Sundays off.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of Veterinary Technician experience.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and able to alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Job description

Salary: $19-$23 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications. $1,000 Sign On Bonus!

Schedule: This position offers a consistent two-week rotating schedule with four shifts per week. Shift start times may be as early as 7:00 AM and end as late as 6:00 PM, depending on the needs of the clinic, with shift lengths ranging from 7–10 hours. Alternating Saturdays are required, and the clinic is closed on Sundays.
