Job summary

National Veterinary Associates offers a veterinary externship at Andover Animal Hospital in New Jersey. Students work with supervising DVMs to gain hands-on experience in histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgery. Emphasis on communication with staff and clients to support patient care.

Externships range from two to eight weeks. DVM students in clinical portions are welcome, with travel/living stipends for eligible participants.

Qualifications

• DVM student enrolled in clinical portion of education.
• Ability to gather histories, perform exams, and participate in treatment planning.
• Willingness to observe/assist or perform surgical procedures and engage in medical management.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and gather patient histories.
• Assist or perform clinical procedures under supervision.
