Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in Renton, WA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring pet and client safety and maintaining high-quality care. You will educate clients on preventive care and wellness plans, and mentor fellow team members to uphold hospital standards.

Preferred education includes a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certificate or an equivalent combination of education and experience; a high school diploma is also acceptable.

Qualifications

• Certificate from a NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent knowledge, training and experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to perform required NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program skills.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure safety of pets, clients and staff.
• Help maintain the flow of patients and communicate with veterinarians and vet techs.
• Educate clients about preventive care and wellness plans.
• Mentor other hospital team members and uphold hospital standards.
