Job summary

Destination Pet LLC in Northshore Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team. The role supports veterinarians, keeps records, and helps deliver compassionate care to pets.

We require 1+ year clinic experience and a high school diploma. You must be able to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays, with physical tasks including lifting and handling animals. This is a full-time position with benefits and DailyPay availability.

• Welcomes clients and pets and makes them feel comfortable.
• Assists veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care.

• Fills prescriptions and explains directions to clients.
• Assists receptionists with check-in/check-out and provides telephone support.
• Performs laboratory tests as needed.
• Keeps facilities clean and well maintained.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team at Northshore Animal Hospital.

Employment Details

REPORTS TO: Practice Manager

PAY: $22.00/hour DOE.

Responsibilities

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

• Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable.
• Assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care.
• Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment.
• Maintaining accurate medical records.
• Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian and explaining prescription directions.
• Assisting receptionists with check-in and checkout procedures and providing telephone support.
• Performing various laboratory tests.
• Keeping our facilities clean and well maintained.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Expertise & Experience: 1+ years of clinic experience as a veterinary assistant. High school diploma.

• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
• Must be able to work on computer system and work multi-line telephone.
• Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
• Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
• Must be comfortable restraining animals during medical examinations.
• Seeking a VA with a flexible schedule, available nights and weekends and some holidays.
• Some experience required but willing to train.
• Very busy hospital.
• Must be a team player and good at multi-tasking.
