Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Physical Therapist II to evaluate, treat, and discharge plan for patients across acute, rehab, and outpatient settings in the Willow Grove area. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance patients’ physical, cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing functions while upholding Jefferson’s mission and values.

The role requires PA licensure, a PT degree (DPT preferred) and a minimum of two years of clinical practice, with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• 2 years of clinical practice required.
• PT - Licensed Physical Therapist - State of Pennsylvania
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provide therapy evaluations, treatment planning, treatment interventions and discharge planning for a full patient caseload in acute care, skilled facility, acute rehab, outpatient settings as appropriate.
• Participates in student education for part-time (ICE, OT level I) or full-time students.
• Records and documents clients/patients' health progress information for evaluation, all therapeutic interventions including daily treatments, progress notes, evaluations and discharge summaries.
• Plans, organizes and delivers treatment programs that help clients/patients recover and rehabilitate.
• Utilizes tools and techniques to administer safe therapeutic interventions and trainings, for patient and families.
• Completes education, teaching and professional activities commensurate with position.
• Participates in orientation and preceptorship of new/rotating staff.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Physical Therapist II is an integral healthcare provider accountable for assisting the patient to progress to their highest level of physical, cognitive, linguistic, and swallowing function. Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program. or
• Master’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program. or
• Doctorate from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• 2 years of clinical practice required.

• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
