Job summary

Hana Enterprises is seeking a Part-time Security Watch Stander aboard the NOAA Ship Oscar Elton Sette at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam to safeguard the vessel, crew, and assets. The role requires US citizenship, 21+ years old, HS diploma, English fluency, reliable conduct, and the ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation is $24.30 per hour with a Health and Welfare benefit; applicants will undergo standard security procedures and must stay alert on

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen and at least 21 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Must be able to climb ladders, crawl in small spaces, stand, walk, bend, crouch.
• Clean background, history free of arrests or other criminal activity.
• Mature judgment, reliability, and dependability.
• Tactfulness, self-control, and the ability to observe, recall, and report.
• Ability to meet and deal effectively with the public and visiting dignitaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide hourly security rounds inspecting all ship spaces (excluding staterooms).
• Contact designated officers for unusual events.
• Log rounds and events in the security watch log.
• Ensure only authorized persons are on the ship and log visitors.
• Secure piers and gates; operate alarm and PA system during emergencies.
• Be present on the bridge when not on rounds and maintain situational awareness.
• Answer ship phones professionally and carry a communications device.
• Assist with morning and evening colors as directed; brief on changes before watch.
