Siemens Digital Industries is seeking a dynamic and experiencedProcess Automation Business Developerto drive growth in theChemical, Glass, and Energy (CGE) sector. This role requires a unique blend oftechnical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skillsto identify, develop, and execute automation solutions that enhance industrial efficiency and innovation. The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales teams, and technical experts to delivervalue-driven automation strategiestailored to industry needs. This position reports directly to theUS Head of Vertical Market CGE.

We are looking for a Process Automation Business Developer. This positionis remote and can be based anywhere in the continental, United States.
You’llmake an impact by:
- Technical & Industry Expertise:
- Provide strategic recommendations onprocess automation, control systems (DCS, SCADA, PLC, IIoT), and digital transformationtechnologies.
- Leverage expertise inchemical process engineering, energy management, and Industry 4.0to develop cutting-edge solutions.
- Ensure compliance withsafety regulations and industry standardsin automation applications.
- Business Development & Market Strategy:
- Identify and capitalize onnew business opportunitiesin theChemical, Glass & Energy (CGE)industries, including Oil & Gas, Hydrogen, Sustainable Fuels, and Battery sectors.
- Developaccount strategiesand execute solution-selling approaches to enhance customer engagement.
- Conductmarket analysis, competitor assessment, and ROI evaluationsto drive sales effectiveness.
- Leadcontract negotiationsand structure service agreements that maximize value for both Siemens and the customer.
- Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintainstrong C-level relationshipsthroughtrusted advisoryand consultative selling.
- Educate key stakeholders onemerging automation trends and digital innovations.
- Collaborate withcross-functional teams, including engineering, IT, and production, to ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Project Management & Implementation:
- UtilizeAgile and Lean methodologiesto manage automation projects efficiently.
- Drivechange management initiativesfor digital transformation in chemical plants.
- Mitigate risks by ensuringregulatory compliance and operational safetyin automation implementations.
- Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement:
- Represent Siemens as arecognized thought leaderin process automation by engaging in industry associations and working groups.
- Leveragesocial media and digital brandingto establish credibility and generate leads.
- Deliverimpactful presentations, proposals, and technical demonstrationsto customers and industry stakeholders.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree inEngineering, Automation, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experiencein consulting, business development, sales, or account management, ideally in theChemical, Glass & Energy (CGE) sector.
- Strong understanding ofprocess automation, industrial digitalization, and sustainability-driven solutions.
- Proven track record incomplex solution sales and business developmentwith major industrial accounts.
- Experience in managingmulti-channel sales models(direct sales, distributors, system integrators).
- Strongfinancial and investment analysisskills for cost-benefit assessment of automation projects.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with astrategic approach to market penetration and revenue growth.
- Ability to workboth independently and within a matrixed, global team environment.
- Willingness totravel up to 40%.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in digital transformation initiatives, AI, predictive maintenance, and smart factories.
- Familiarity withSiemens Digital Industries product portfolio.
- Established network within thechemical, energy, or industrial automation sectors.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and public-speaking skills.

- The pay range for this position is $89,670 - $153,720. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
