Summary

The Vertical Buyer for Made Jewelry leads product selection, content strategy, and assortment planning to support the division's merchandise strategies across channels. This role partners with planning and finance teams to meet sales, margin, and GMROI targets while coaching assistant buyers and managing in-season decisions. The position requires strong vendor negotiation and multi-channel retail expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop product plans to support seasonal department merchandise strategies based on customer expectations and trends
• Build multi-channel expertise for presentation, customer behavior, and competitive landscape for both full-line stores and online
• Negotiate exclusive offerings, pricing, vendor‑funded markdowns, return‑to‑vendor agreements, drop‑ship programs, and co‑op
• Manage in‑season inventory decisions including markdowns, claims, and re‑orders
• Partner with buy planner and financial planner on business reviews, open‑to‑buy management, and plan revisions
• Teach, coach, and motivate assistant buyer(s) to drive in‑season performance and assortment curation

Requirements
