Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz is seeking a Laboratory Research Professional at Open Rank (Intermediate-Principal) in Aurora, CO. The role leads projects on vertebrate notochord and intervertebral disc development using zebrafish and mice, designing experiments, generating data, and interpreting results.

The position involves collaboration with PIs, independent method development, and training junior staff across multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field.
  • 1 year professional level wet lab research experience, including zebrafish work
  • Master's degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field (preferred)
  • Four or more years of wet lab experience including zebrafish work (preferred)
  • Experience with molecular biology methods including PCR, cloning, immunoprecipitation, microscopy, RNA in situ hybridization, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with PIs and other stakeholders with lab and research functions
  • Utilize laboratory techniques required for research projects
  • Independently identify laboratory solutions
  • Develop and implement new or modified laboratory techniques
  • Assist and train junior team members
  • Prepare SOPs and process improvements
  • Oversee day-to-day priorities and mentoring (principal level)
  • Lead study design, data management and manuscript preparation (senior/principal levels)
