Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to coordinate nursing care, provide direct patient care, and educate patients and families. You will support professional practice across the continuum of care within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model and may take on leadership and mentoring roles.

Current RN licensure is required; one year of RN or Mayo Clinic LPN experience is preferred. You must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a nursing program.
• Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
• One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends and on-call.
• Demonstrated leadership, effective communicator, and excellent critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing care, including direct patient care and patient/family education.
• Support professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care.
• Function within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model.
• Delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, resources.
• Possess excellent communication skills; mentor, teach, and may participate on committees or projects.
• A subset of employees may be required to drive their personal vehicle.
