Job summary

The Hughston Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to float between departments, providing hands-on support in a fast-paced clinic. You will collect patient history, take vitals, and ensure accurate charting in the EMR system under clinician direction.

You will also assist with minor procedures, manage supplies, and help coordinate tests, referrals, and pre-certifications, while maintaining HIPAA compliance and professional communication with patients and team members.

Qualifications

• One year of relevant healthcare experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of HIPAA requirements.
• Ability to work across departments and adapt to different workflows.

Responsibilities

• Collect and enter patient health history.
• Take vitals at check-in and assist with minor procedures.
• Maintain EMR charts and ensure data accuracy.
• Assist with placement and removal of DME devices and wound care.
• Sterilize equipment and manage exam room readiness.
• Coordinate scheduling, referrals, and pre-cert procedures.
• Complete insurance and administrative forms promptly.
