Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in North Babylon is seeking a Medical Assistant - Float to support physicians and nurses by completing patient care tasks with safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Must have High School or equivalent or graduate of Medical Assistant program, or 2 years MA experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care tasks under supervision and assists with patient flow to exam rooms.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, and ECGs as needed; assists with phlebotomy and specimen handling.
• Assists physicians with procedures and with documentation for charting and orders.
• Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are clean and prepared for patients.
• Assists with scheduling treatments and coordinating with physicians for renewals.
• Trains new Medical Assistants and may handle administrative responsibilities.
