Ideal candidates have 2+ years in a related role, a culinary degree or equivalent, and ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it. Evening and weekend availability is required for this fast-paced environment.

• Culinary degree or equivalent experience; up-to-date with culinary trends.
• Available to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient with Vista POS and inventory systems.

The Cinema and Entertainment Center Assistant Kitchen Manager (CECAKM) will work closely with the CEC Executive Kitchen Manager to ensure the kitchen is running smoothly and efficiently. They are also responsible for the overall operation of the kitchen and concession stand in the absence of the Kitchen Manager. The CECAKM will oversee kitchen staff, ensure quality control of all food items, and maintain a clean and organized work environment. They will also be responsible for menu planning and development, food preparation, cooking, and controlling inventory and food costs.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Exhibits strong organization, leadership, and communication skills and be able to work well under pressure.
• Ensures that all food is prepared and cooked to the highest standards, set by the Kitchen Manager.
• Assists with ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels. For both the kitchen and concession stand.
• Assists with the inventory process and ensure all par levels in coolers, freezers, and dry storage are stocked.
• Monitors food waste management and takes steps to implement processes to reduce waste.
• Helps train new kitchen team members in proper food preparation, food handling techniques, safety procedures, and knife skills.
• Enforces sanitation standards and maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Creates weekly schedules for kitchen staff.

What We Are Looking For:

• Required to be at least 19 years of age.
• Required to have or be willing to get ServSafe Certification.
• 2+ years as an assistant kitchen manager or similar role in a restaurant.
• Required to have a culinary school degree or equivalent experience and be up to date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Working knowledge of professional kitchen equipment and procedures.
• Firsthand experience with inventory management and Vista POS.
