Verizon is offering a hybrid internship based in the United States where you will contribute to AI-first initiatives. You will gain broad exposure across business units and work on real projects with mentors guiding your development.

The program emphasizes collaboration, ethical AI practices, and rapid skill growth within a supportive, fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are rising seniors in STEM with the ability to relocate, travel, and participate fully in a 10-week schedule.

What you’ll be doing...

You and your team will be working on a real project in real time: it’ll be impactful and timely work that the business depends on. In recent summers, interns in Data Science have:

• Partnered with Sales, Service, and CX business partners to deeply understand operational workflows and deliver high-impact data solutions.




• Developed conversational UIs and integrated emerging AI capabilities, agents, and LLMs (such as Claude) into core business processes.




• * Built and enhanced scalable data assets, dashboards, semantic layers, and gold layers to provide fast, reliable insights.

In this hybrid internship, based out of Basking Ridge, NJ, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

You’ll also join us for the Intern Marquee event in Basking Ridge, NJ, a unique, in-person experience designed exclusively for all US interns. This multi-day event is your chance to build your connections through structured networking and be inspired by top executives in a professional environment.

All successful applicants to this role will:

• Be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with a graduation date between December 2027 - June 2028, and be in good academic standing.




• Have the ability to participate in a full-time, hybrid, 10-week (temporary) internship between June 2027 to August 2027.




• Have authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.




• Be willing and able to travel.




• Be willing and able to relocate.




• Demonstrate agile, clear, and persuasive written and verbal communication.




• Bring experiences in advanced predictive analytics & data architecture, potentially demonstrated by work in transitioning systems from historical reporting to predictive, algorithmic forecasting, behavioral data modeling, or data structuring.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in one of the following majors: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related major.




• Hands-on experience or familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks, or tools like Claude.




• * Experience designing or building semantic data models, gold layer architectures, or interactive BI dashboards (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).




• Demonstrated experience driving cross-functional projects, applying systems thinking, data-backed reasoning, and process simplification to solve complex problems and streamline workflows across matrixed teams.




• A track record of rapid skill acquisition and entrepreneurial initiative, with proven ability to leverage technical/data literacy (including AI tools) to adapt to shifting priorities and deliver customer-centric outcomes.

The base pay rate for this position is $27.00/hour.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
