Job summary

Grand Casino Hinckley is seeking a seasoned Food & Beverage Leader to ensure guest service satisfaction by orchestrating the production of quality Food & Beverage in line with the casino's high standards.

You will enforce policies, manage liquor controls, train associates, control costs, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while maintaining open communication across venues. This role requires supervisory experience and a strong focus on guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Progressive Food & Beverage operations experience with supervisory responsibility.
  • Experience in alcohol service including wine service.
  • Certification in Serv-Safe preferred with one year to placement.
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification required within two months.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce performance standards, policies and procedures in the venue.
  • Comply with all health, liquor and safety regulations; as well as laws.
  • Evaluate and train Associates to ensure guest service standards.
  • Liquor control and ordering for the venue.
  • Ensure venue operations run smoothly to satisfy guests.
  • Review and approve staffing actions in a fair manner.
  • Maximize cost effectiveness by adhering to budgets and benchmarks.
  • Address guest grievances promptly and effectively.
  • Maintain cash handling procedures and variances.
  • Provide feedback to aid Associates' skill development.
  • Communicate operational deficiencies to management.
  • Set priorities for Team members and assist as needed.
  • Know internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain venue equipment and appearance to standards.
  • Maintain open communication through meetings and briefings.

Summary

Responsible for ensuring maximum guest service satisfaction, by orchestrating, through the team, production of quality Food/Beverage and in accordance with Grand Casino’s high standards of service.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:


  • Enforce performance standards, policies and procedures in the venue are in accordance with Grand Casino’s mission and objectives.

  • Responsible for complying with all food and beverage health, liquor and safety regulations; as well as all Tribal, Federal, State and Local applicable laws.

  • Responsible for evaluating and training of the Associates ensuring staff’s compliance with all guest service standards.

  • Responsible for liquor control and ordering for the venue.

  • Ensure venue operations are run in a smooth, efficient manner to ensure guests satisfaction.

  • Review and approve all recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign and discipline all Associates in a fair and equitable manner.

  • Maximize cost effectiveness within the department by ensuring compliance with established budget, labor and revenue benchmarks.

  • Responsible for listening to, evaluating and assuring control of guest grievances and settles them without delay.

  • Maintains proper procedures for cash handling and variances.

  • Responsible for the job performance of all Associates and provides feedback on it to aid the Associates in developing and enhancing skills.

  • Provide input to Management concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention.

  • Establish priorities for all Team members and provides assistance as needed.

  • Knowledge of Grand Casino’s internal controls, policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for maintaining all venue equipment and the appearance of the venues in accordance with Grand Casino’s standards.

  • Responsible for maintaining open communication throughout the venues, through staff meetings, weekly supervisory meeting, and daily pre-shift meetings.

  • Any and all other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:


  • Three (3) years progressive Food & Beverage Operations experience with Two (2) years of Supervisory/Managerial experience required and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the hospitality industry with emphasis on Food & Beverage.

  • One (1) year alcohol service including wine service experience with one (1) year bartending experience.

  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred (Certification is required within one (1) year of placement).

  • Alcohol Awareness Certification within 2 months of employment.
