Job summary

The Trustees' Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate is seeking an experienced Senior Event Sales Manager to drive revenue through private weddings, corporate and social events. You will act as the primary contact from inquiry to booking, day-of coordination, and post-event follow-up, ensuring flawless client experiences.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding revenue and sales goals.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and build a strong sales pipeline.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Hospitality and service-oriented mindset.
  • Degree from an accredited college or university, or comparable experience.
  • 5 to 9 years of sales and management experience in hospitality, preferably in cultural institutions.
  • 2+ years of self-managed experience in event services, meeting management, event coordination, or planning.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and deliver exceptional client experiences across premier event venues
  • Manage wedding, corporate, and social event sales for the Eleanor Cabot Bradley Estate
  • Serve as the main point of contact for private event bookings from initial inquiry through booking, day-of coordination, and management
  • Conduct venue tours, answer client questions, close bookings, and manage client relationships throughout the sales and event lifecycle
  • Own annual booking, revenue, profitability, and utilization goals
  • Generate leads and promote the venue through partnerships with caterers, photographers, planners, and industry professionals
  • Oversee event planning, coordination, logistics, staffing, setup, execution, and post-event follow-up
  • Manage the event calendar and communicate event details to property staff and stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to Trustees policies, venue standards, historic preservation requirements, safety procedures, and operational expectations
  • Supervise deliveries, wedding parties, vendors, parking, guest registration, setup, and day-of operations
  • Coordinate event closeout with property staff and complete post-event evaluations
  • Provide clients with recommendations and guidance appropriate to the event and venue
  • Collaborate across venues, share qualified leads, and support enterprise-wide revenue growth
  • Connect event clients and guests to Trustees experiences, memberships, programs, retail offerings, and philanthropic initiatives
  • Support ancillary revenue opportunities such as retail gifts
  • Maintain accurate records in venue management systems and optimize the event calendar
  • Report to the Regional Vice President, with a dotted line to the statewide Director of Enterprise Partnerships
  • Collaborate with regional peers and provide leadership and supervision to other event staff as needed

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn a sales and venue management program
  • Flexibility to adapt to a varied work schedule and event scheduling demands
  • Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment
  • Satisfactory criminal background (CORI) check
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and bend for more than 50% of working hours
  • Ability to lift upwards of 40 pounds
  • Preferred: familiarity with Tripleseat booking platform and Canva
  • Preferred: past catering or venue sales experience at cultural institutions
  • Preferred: understanding of sustainable practices for weddings and other events
