Job summary

PitchBook, a Morningstar company, seeks an experienced journalist to lead the daily venture capital newsletter from San Francisco. You will shape its editorial direction, ensuring high-quality short-form reporting for a core audience of venture dealmakers and founders.

You will collaborate with research and data teams to deliver insightful analytics, while expanding your industry network and attending major conferences as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 8+ years of experience in financial journalism, ideally on the venture capital and/or startup beat.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production of PitchBook's daily venture capital newsletter, owning its editorial direction and quality.
• Build a newsletter experience for venture dealmakers with insider analysis.
• Deliver ongoing analysis of news and data as well as enterprise reporting.
• Source and edit newsletter contributions from reporters and PitchBook's analyst team.
• Collaborate with research analysts, data analysts, and the data visuals team to produce insightful journalism.
• Build and cultivate a deep network of industry sources.
• Attend major conferences or events in person, including travel when needed.
• Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling.
