Job summary

Courtside Ventures is hiring an Associate to work directly with the investment team across the full deal lifecycle in New York. You will own workstreams, interact with founders immediately, and contribute to memoranda, market theses, and external content.

This hands-on role places you in a small team with high agency and high upside, requiring strong writing and a passion for sports, entertainment, and consumer sectors. NYC-based in-office work is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in venture capital or equivalent; understands IC memos and deal processes.
• Based in New York City or willing to split time in NYC; in-person work.
• Ability to operate autonomously with minimal oversight.
• Proficient with AI tools for research, diligence, and writing.
• Strong writing skills for market pieces and memos.
• Genuine interest in sports, entertainment, and consumer sectors.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing deals and building a personal outreach engine in relevant sectors.
• Lead primary diligence: calls, market sizing, competitive mapping, references.
• Develop and defend investment thesis with the team.
• Support portfolio companies post-investment on growth initiatives.
• Write market content and participate in external communications.
• Represent Courtside at industry events and grow a founder network.
• Contribute to LP reporting and internal process improvements.
