Job summary

Vallen is seeking a Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator I to handle inventory at customer sites, set up VMI processes, stock cabinets, and ensure accurate shipments from the warehouse to the site.

The role is on-site in Minnesota, Mon-Fri 1st shift 7a-330, a 6-month temp assignment with potential for hire. Steel toe shoes are required and the dress code is jeans/khakis and t-shirt/polo.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of warehouse, inventory counting or delivery experience.
• Willingness to learn and work on semi-routine assignments.
• Self-starter with ability to work with supervision.
• Ability to understand and follow written or spoken instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accuracy of shipments to customers.
• Assist with VMI space/placement and stock product in designated areas.
• Track orders from warehouse pickup to delivery and setup at customer site.
• Relay customer spot buy orders to CSR/AR as needed.
• Recommend changes to inventory levels based on usage.
• Maintain up-to-date and legible barcode labels for scanners.
• Support annual inventory counts and 5S in VMI areas.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Summary

• Vendor Managed Inventory Coordinator I is an individual contributor that delivers and set up inventory at customer's designated sites. Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Checks goods distribution against purchase orders or invoices, Responsible for transporting company cargo to customers. Conducts inventory task in accordance with local VMI processes. Follows proper guidelines for use of all equipment. Ensures equipment is clean, safe. Reports concerns to management team.
• HOURS: Mon-Fri 1st shift 7a-330 but may change
• 6-month temp assignment. Potential for temp to hire depending on site needs.
• Will assist onsite Vallen team with bringing materials to POU areas and loading vending machines.
• Will stock cabinets.
• Need someone reliable and dependable.
• Works to ensure the accuracy of shipments to the customer.
• Assist with the VMI customer space/placement, sets up the appropriate area to receive shipment of material and stocks product in the customer's designated area.
• Follow the customer order through from pick-up at Vallen's warehouse/DC to delivery and set up at customer site.
• Takes customer spot buy orders when needed and relays the information to the CSR or AR.
• Recommend changes to the customer inventory levels based on usage.
• Steel toe shoes are required.
• Will assist with cleaning work area and machines.
• Dress code: jeans/khakis and t-shirt/polo. No shorts or sweatpants. Top must be work appropriate, no vulgar or profane language.
• May lift up to 50# unassisted.

• Ensures that bar code labels are up to date and legible for scanners to read and advised management when new barcode labels are needed.
• Scans barcodes at customer site to generate customer orders.
• Maintains awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and reports observations back to managements.
• Assist in the annual inventory (cycle) counts on consigned
• Presents information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and managers.
• 5S all VMI Point of Use areas.
• Performs other duties as requested.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant warehouse, inventory counting or delivery, experience. High school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
• Relevant experience should include:
• Willingness to learn and work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature.
• Must be a self-starter with the willingness to work with supervision.
• Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Demonstrated ability to get the job done correctly and in a timely manner.
• Possess a proactive and positive team approach to problem resolution.
• Must have the ability to establish strong working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.
• Willing to gain knowledge of company products.
