Job summary

The New York Public Library is seeking a Manager to direct the end-to-end lifecycle of outsourced digitization projects for the Research Libraries. You will oversee large-scale reformatting of Audio and Moving Image materials and image collections, supervise the Media Preservation Coordinator, and manage vendor contracts to meet preservation standards.

You will build relationships across libraries, refine workflows, and ensure secure transport and tracking of fragile materials while aligning

Qualifications

• 5+ years in cultural heritage digitization or preservation with PM focus.
• Experience managing external vendors and procurement processes.
• Experience managing project costs and large budgets.
• Supervisory or team lead experience in production/preservation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end vendor-based digitization projects from initial RFP to delivery.
• Oversee the Media Preservation Coordinator's professional development.
• Administer vendor contracts, MSAs, and OTPs/grant budgets.
• Coordinate secure transport logistics for materials.
• Teach vendor management and technical quality standards to staff.
• Learn FADGI/AMI specs for diverse formats and materials.
• Improve vendor pipeline with tracking and QC workflows.
