Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Vendor Technician in Binghamton, NY. The role delivers and services key vending accounts, performing basic troubleshooting and repairs on vending systems. Daily local travel is required in a company vehicle, with a first shift from Monday to Friday.

The position includes comprehensive benefits and a clear path for growth. Candidates should have a high school diploma, a valid US driver’s license, and prior experience in inventory management, customer service, sales or PC help

Qualifications

• Must have a valid US driver’s license.
• At least 21 years old.
• Must have prior inventory management, customer service, sales and/or PC help desk related experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and services key vending account customers and cabinets/storerooms relative to inventory of gases, consumables and safety products.
• Additionally, performs basic troubleshooting and mechanical repairs as needed.
• Serves existing accounts throughout an assigned territory.
• Delivers and replenishes to customers various industrial products and vending machine or storeroom items.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and repairs mechanical vending systems as needed.
• Reviews manual stock levels of various inventories at multiple plant departments for reorder.
• Maintains dedicated branch inventory levels for proper replenishment.
• Tracks and turns in delivery tickets and consignment fill tickets.

Pay Range: $22-24/hr

Shift Time: 1st shift, Monday-Friday

Travel: Daily travel to local customer sites in a company vehicle

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Must have a valid US driver’s license.
• At least 21 years old.
• Must have prior inventory management, customer service, sales and/or PC help desk related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in product distribution or inventory management.
• Experience with welding and safety products or related industrial products a plus.
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) or Google Suite.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed.
• Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position’s responsibilities.
• Able to lift 30 pounds.
• Mechanically and technologically competent.
