Qualifications

Role Description

The Vehicle Upfitting Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for installing and configuring shelving, racking, and cargo management systems in customer vehicles according to specifications and safety standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting work orders and diagrams, using hand and power tools to perform installations, and ensuring all components are securely fitted and properly aligned. The technician will inspect vehicles before and after upfitting, perform basic adjustments, and collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop. The role also involves communicating with supervisors on project status, identifying potential issues, and supporting continuous improvement in installation processes and quality.

Qualifications
  • Candidates should possess skills in Vehicle Maintenance and general Maintenance & Repair to perform safe and reliable upfitting work.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Automotive Repair, including Suspension work, to understand vehicle systems impacted by upfitting.
  • Candidates should possess skills in routine service tasks such as Oil Changes, demonstrating familiarity with standard automotive procedures.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and installation hardware in an automotive or technical environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work orders, and installation instructions with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, time management, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift and position components, stand for extended periods, and work in and around vehicles safely.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in automotive upfitting, fabrication, or related fields is preferred.
