Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks a motivated Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) in Spartanburg, SC to deliver and relocate vehicles for Penske locations and customers. The role involves moving box trucks up to 26’, with CDL Class A optional for tractors and trailers.

You must have 2 years of driving experience and a clean DMV record, read instructions well, and work independently with strong customer service skills. English proficiency and DOT compliance are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required; domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in your state.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions is required.
• Independent work style with customer service, organizational skills and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency required by federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske locations or customer locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical and safety equipment is in good order; report issues.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles.
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor.
