General Motors in Michigan is seeking a software engineer to lead the OTA readiness plan, ensure vehicle launch readiness, and drive end-to-end OTA deployment. You will develop payloads and campaigns for VeSCoM, monitor performance, and design dashboards to track delivery status by optimizing SQL queries in relational and big data platforms.

DUTIES: Develop and execute OTA Readiness Plan to ensure vehicle launch and OTA capabilities prior vehicle launch. Understand implementation project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing. Develop, design, and create the different payloads/campaigns to deliver a VeSCoM and monitor the performance. Design and create dashboards to monitor the delivery status by optimizing complicated SQL statements in relational database and big data platform. Drive resolution of all issues surfaced during development process that lack a natural owner or require multi-functional coordination. End to End ownership of OTA deployment method by coordinating with SW VSE, SIT, PQM, CRT, PEMs to ensure a successful delivery of a VeSCoM for Capture Test Fleet and customers. Understand core strategies, feature requirements, UX requirements and operational process requirements for OTA programming. Own one of more platform capabilities including OTA refresh, Diagnostics, Network, and Communications. Project management and hands on test and integration.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation. Two (2) years of experience in the following: OTA update and vehicle connectivity technologies; and Troubleshooting skills and improvement methodologies. One (1) year of experience in the following: Issue identification, support and resolution; In vehicle test setup and configuration for OTA execution; Retrieval and analysis of CGM/TCP/CAN logs; Operational process requirement including Back Office processes for connected vehicle services; Make issues and OTA impacts to specific modules and features; and Problem-solving skills to triage and resolve ambiguity issues that frequently surface during Over-The-Air update.
