Position Summary:

The Vehicle Supply Technician (VST) ensures every ambulance is clean, stocked, mechanically sound, and “response ready”. This role reduces vehicle down-time and supports the timely, high-quality delivery of transportation services to crews and patients.

The VST's work falls into three core areas: maintaining and tracking medical and vehicle supplies, servicing equipment, and coordinating vehicle maintenance. The VST works closely with Station Managers to keep vehicles compliant with county requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct daily inventory checks and restock ambulance and unit supplies at assigned stations, document in OperativeIQ.
  • Requisition supplies and manage the supply warehouse/rooms, including intake, distribution, and inventory cycle counts.
  • Document inventory accurately in OperativeIQ, and coordinate equipment shipments as directed.
  • Check oxygen pressure levels, replace tanks below policy minimums, and ensure tanks are secured with the correct strapping method.
  • Clean ambulances inside and out, and keep the workspace and cleaning supplies stocked and organized each shift.
  • Process, sanitize, and dispose of medical supplies and equipment safely, following bloodborne pathogen and standard precautions.
  • Complete servicing tasks on equipment (Stryker) and ensure deep cycling of monitor batteries.
  • Document vehicle condition at end of shift, and report deficiencies, safety violations, and hazards to the Station Manager.
  • Perform vehicle mechanical checks as required.
  • Report breakdowns and equipment failures to the Station Manager, keeping an accurate log and arranging repair or reallocation of the vehicle.
  • Support the Station Manager with parts pickup and repositioning vehicles between deployment centers and maintenance facilities.
  • Transport equipment to bases, assist with ambulance redeployment.
  • Contribute to the success of Falcon by performing any other related duties deemed necessary to meet the needs of the Company.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
  • Adhere to company and EMSA policies and procedures, and Falcon Critical Care Transport Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain a driving record in compliance with company insurability policy.
  • Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
  • Maintain flexibility in scheduling.
  • Communicate regularly with Station Manager about department issues and opportunities.
  • Meets Falcon Critical Care Transport productivity and quality standards.
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ambulance or healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Driving record as needed to be insured on Falcon Vehicles.
  • Clean (H6) DMV Driving Record, no more than three points.
  • Stryker Equipment Certified, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Perform the physical requirements of the position including: good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times.
  • Ability to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects weighing up to 100lbs.
