Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Service Porter to support the maintenance and service of vehicles across our dealership network. You will assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars, remove coverings, inspect vehicles, transport people and items, and perform deliveries as needed.

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 6–12 months of prior work experience, the ability to read instructions, strong communication, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive manual

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6–12 months of previous work experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Must have a valid drivers license.
• Ability to operate an automobile.

Responsibilities

• Assist with service write-ups and tagging of customer cars and trucks.
• Remove vehicle protective coverings and ID tags prior to returning completed vehicle to customer.
• Inspect vehicles for stains, debris and damages and report any issues.
• Transport customers and dealership personnel as needed.
• Perform deliveries as required.
• Clean interior and exterior of vehicles.
• Keep vehicle lot neat and orderly and move units as directed.
• Return vehicle keys to the service consultant.
• Pickup/delivery of vehicles to storage and to parts department.
• Test batteries in service drive.
• Maintain building and grounds.
• Assist with shop clean-up and deliveries as needed.
