Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a Vehicle Pre-Inspector to evaluate incoming vehicles, determine repair procedures, and diagnose problems on-site at Wilkes-Barre, PA. You’ll use U-Haul’s proprietary technology and participate in a hands-on team environment with growth opportunities and a strong benefits program.

The role emphasizes basic mechanical skills, diagnostic familiarity, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining safety standards and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Positive attitude is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools.
• Understanding of automotive/trailer mechanics.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough evaluations of equipment through multipoint inspections.
• Understand and implement U-Haul quality standards.
• Ability to diagnose and recommend courses of action (parts and labor).
• Allocate necessary parts and labor on work orders for technicians.
• Perform basic mechanical repairs as needed.
• Continued learning via U-Haul education to stay up to date with current technology and our new fleet
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.
