Responsibilities

• Operate motor vehicles to transport individuals to CSU or hospital as identified by authorities.
• Maintain training to operate a state vehicle and transport individuals.
• Complete and maintain transportation logs and reports.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained; submit reports to Health & Safety officer monthly.
• Ensure vehicles meet standards and are compliant.
• Follow policies for transportation and attendance; manage unscheduled absences.
• Use time management to maintain schedules.
• Use judgment for situations requiring supervisor referral.
• Work flexible hours to ensure timely arrivals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Vehicle Operator is an active member of the team and provides transportation as needed for individuals who have been assessed and determined to need transport to an Emergency Receiving Facility (ie., Crisis Stabilization Unit or hospital). We are looking to hire three two-person teams. The positions will be 40 hours per week Monday-Friday (shift 1 will be 8a-4p, shift 2 will be 10a-6p, and shift 3 will be 12p-8p - flexibility is necessary to provide excellent quality of care).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate motor vehicles to transport voluntary individuals from a community location to a CSU or hospital as identified by law enforcement or a behavioral health provider.
• Maintain all training necessary to operate a state vehicle and transport individuals.
• Complete and maintain all reports, transportation logs.
• Ensure vehicles are maintained and reports turned in to the Health & Safety officer each month.
• Ensures vehicles are up to standards and in compliance.
• Follows established policies and procedures regarding transportation of individuals and follows establish policies and procedures regarding calling in for unscheduled absences.
• Uses time management and maintains schedule.
• Uses initiative and judgement to assure that circumstances requiring special attention (i.e. individual acting out) are referred to the supervisor and or director.
• Work flexible hours to ensure that individuals arrive to their destination at the appropriate time.
• Other duties as assigned.
