Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in the Greater San Jose area to help ensure manufacturability, testability, and reliable integration of satellite designs. You will collaborate with design engineers early in development to influence manufacturability and plan assembly/test sequences for complex electro-mechanical components.

The role requires 3+ years in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing, and experience reading engineering drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLM and MES for design and production management.
• Experience with satellite or spacecraft integration and test.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with design engineers early in development to influence manufacturability, testability, and integration.
• Plan and document detailed assembly and test sequences for satellite components and systems, including wire harnesses.
• Identify and specify requirements for assembly aids such as jigs, fixtures, and custom tooling; support their design, procurement, and validation.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

3+ years of experience in aerospace or high-reliability manufacturing environments

Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Experience with software tools for design & production management such as PLM and MES

Experience with satellite or spacecraft integration and test

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in a cleanroom manufacturing environment

Familiarity with aerospace industry standards such as AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar

Experience with CAD tools for mechanical, electrical, and wire harness design
